Mica and other mica-bearing separating materials used as insulation surpass the majority of artificial materials used in the area. They are used as a source of thermo-insulation or electric insulation, moreover a set of properties that mica bears cannot be reproduced artificially.
Mica insulation is universal and combined protection against high temperature and high voltage. Moreover, such insulation may function in hostile environment, both under acid and alkaline conditions at high temperatures. E.g., having been at a temperature of 1050°C for as long as 4 hours, structural heat-resistant micaceous laminate - IZKAH retained its electrical and mechanical properties.
Mica-bearing materials have highly protective properties due to presence of mica.
